The list is organized by subjects on Shelves which you can find above the movie lists. Narrow your search by selecting one of those sub-categories or look through the main movie list. Only the main list has all the movies. (Ask if you have any trouble.) The list looks different when formatted for your mobile device, likely with less information. Note that all videos are not yet in a subcategory. If you're not sure what to watch, try the Movies To Consider Shelf for suggestions...or ask. We might have recommendations for you.

When you are looking at a video title, you can click on the "More Details" button—as you did to read this. Many, but not all, have additional information in the Synopsis. Most of those are written by others online or by the publishers, though we have tried to add our own thoughts in a few cases when we can. Some of the best movies are older movies so don't simply look for the more recent movies. They are not always the best.

The Blu-ray Shelf lists ALL the blu-ray videos. The DVD Shelf lists ALL the DVDs plus blu-rays boxes that contain a DVD video. Not all rooms have blu-ray players, but because many blu-ray movies have corresponding DVDs, you may be able to find what you want to watch anyway.

When you have made your selections, ask us for the videos. They are located in multiple places and, generally, it may not be easy for you to find what you want on your own. Likewise, when you bring it back, don't put it on a convenient shelf. Otherwise, we might not know how to find it ourselves next time we need to find it. Give it to us and we'll try to get it back to the right place.

We do not want to loan certain videos for young children if they are not appropriate. As one example, R-rated videos are not appropriate for young children and we prefer not to loan them. Please check ratings before checking out a video for children.

More Details

Witness accounts and actual photos of this historical event support the telling of this amazing true story. Over 70,000 people witnessed the final event at the time.

Based on the memoirs of the oldest seer, Lucia Santos, and many thousands of independent eyewitness accounts, The 13th Day dramatizes the true story of three young shepherds who experienced six apparitions of the Virgin Mary between May and October 1917, which culminated in the astounding and well-documented Miracle of the Sun on October 13th. Abducted from their homes, thrown into prison and interrogated under the threat of death in the government's attempt to silence them, the children remained true to their story about the crucial messages from Mary of prayer, repentance and conversion for the world.

In a world torn apart by persecution, war and oppression, 3 children in Fatima were chosen as messengers to offer an urgent message of hope to the world.

The young children were given a secret told in three parts that included prophetic warnings of future events including the advent and timing of World War II and the spread, and demise, of communism even before the Russian Revolution brought about the establishment of the Soviet Union.

Stylistically beautiful and technically innovative, the film combines actual photos of the event with state-of-the-art digital effects to recreate stunning images of the visions and the final miracle that have never before been fully realized on screen. Shot on location in Portugal and in the UK, the film uses three young Portuguese actors to play the iconic roles of the seers.

Witness the greatest miracle of the 20th Century, and experience the incredible, emotionally-charged and harrowing world of three young children whose choice to remain loyal to their beliefs, even in the face of death, would inspire millions.

More Details

One of Disney's best-ever animated features, 101 Dalmatians arrived at a time when the studio's output was getting a second wind. Made just after Lady And The Tramp and Sleeping Beauty, and with The Jungle Book not far away, it was a rich time for Disney, and fans of animated movies. 101 Dalmatians is simply wonderful in its own right, though. In Cruella De Vil, Disney put on screen one of its finest ever villains, and its charming collection of characters are a joy to spend time with... It's incredible that a film made so many decades ago maintains such a spring in its step, and it's with good reason that 101 Dalmatians remains one of the most popular, and best, movies that Walt Disney Studios has every produced. —Jon Foster

More Details

Amazon.com: With six episodes spread out over four discs and a running time of well over six hours (in addition to an interactive CD-ROM filled with extra features), director-producer Jack Leustig's sprawling 500 Nations, a history of Indians in North America, is likely the most comprehensive effort of its kind ever undertaken.
Mention the word "Indian," and most will conjure up images inspired by myths and movies: teepees, headdresses, and war paint; Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Crazy Horse, and their battles (like Little Big Horn) with the U.S. Cavalry. Those stories of the so-called "horse nations" of the Great Plains are all here, but so is a great deal more. Using impressive computer imaging, photos, location film footage and breathtaking cinematography, interviews with present-day Indians, books and manuscripts, museum artifacts, and more, Leustig and his crew go back more than a millennium to present an fascinating account of Indians, including those (like the Maya and Aztecs in Mexico and the Anasazi in the Southwest) who were here long before white men ever reached these shores.
It was the arrival of Europeans like Columbus, Cortez, and DeSoto that marked the beginning of the end for the Indians. Considering the participation of host Kevin Costner, whose film Dances with Wolves was highly sympathetic to the Indians, it's no bulletin that 500 Nations also takes a compassionate view of the multitude of calamities—from alcohol and disease to the corruption of their culture and the depletion of their vast natural resources—visited on them by the white man in his quest for land and money, eventually leading to such horrific events as the Trail of Tears "forced march," the massacre at Wounded Knee, and other consequences of the effort to "relocate" Indians to the reservations where many of them still live. Along the way, we learn about the Indians' participation in such events as the American Revolution and the War of 1812, as well as popular legends like the first Thanksgiving (it really happened) and the rescue of Captain John Smith by Pocahontas (it probably didn't).
With its sometimes New Age-y music and many beauty shots of the great outdoors, 500 Nations has a rather different vibe than the average Ken Burns documentary. That may lessen its value for sober historians, but for the rest of us, this is an illuminating and important work. —Sam Graham
